Are you a wireless or DAS Technician looking for that next step into a more senior role? We are looking for someone who would like to be a part of a busy and growing wireless department at Waveguide who has skills and knowledge to lead.

He/She will work independently and lead a small team to efficiently and accurately install & maintain ODAS/Small Cell nodes. Act as work site lead, ensuring that all personnel on the work site are working efficiently and safely. A Level 3 Technician is fully responsible for the quality of the work done onsite as well as delivering all closeout material as documented by the project manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Consistently demonstrate leadership skill needed to direct the activities of installation team consisting of level 1 – 3 employees.
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair antenna systems with minimal support
  • Ensure that all needed materials and tools are brought to the jobsite.
  • Ensure that all team members properly use and maintain Waveguide tools.
  • Verify that all tools are in proper working order at the beginning and end of the day. Report damaged or worn-out tools to management.
  • Consistently manage and follow installation and testing guidelines
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of sweep and PIM testing and the results. Recognize failures, their cause and remedy.
  • Demonstrate understanding of fiber testing. Including:
    • optical light levels
    • OTDR/iOLM
    • connector inspection
    • basic CWDM
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret design, RFDS, TMP and PIC drawings
  • Demonstrate best cable install practices and high build quality
  • Manage and submit complete quality closeout documentation for each job.
  • Manage onsite subcontractors
  • Demonstrate constant positive leadership skills while working in a team environment.
  • Take ownership of jobsite safety setup, and documentation.
  • Ensure that a positive attitude is maintained by all team members on the worksite.
  • When PM is not onsite, act as the voice of Waveguide when dealing with the customer, residents, subcontractors, police and municipal/state authorities.
  • Lead daily safety tailgate briefings.
  • Mentor Jr team members.
  • Drive to complete each job as efficiently as possible.
  • Identify process improvements to improve profitability.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years experience as a field wireless technician

Management skills desired

Requirements and Working Conditions:

Working conditions vary based on the customer site.  Work may take place in new or old construction.  Environments may be cramped, elevated, dirty/dusty, extreme hot or cold, and occasional risk of electrical shock.  There is usually an environment of moderate noise level.  Safety must be considered when dealing with heavy equipment and electricity
